Rewards Rate8/10

Earns 2x miles on all purchases — the highest flat-rate earn on a travel card at this fee tier — plus 5x on flights and 10x on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel.

Welcome Bonus8.5/10

75,000 miles after $4,000 in 3 months. Worth $750 via Capital One Travel or $938–$1,313 via transfer partners like Air Canada Aeroplan or Turkish Miles&Smiles.

Annual Fee Value9.5/10

$300 annual travel credit applied automatically to any travel purchase, plus 10,000 anniversary miles worth $100, equals $400 in automatic annual value against a $395 fee. The card is cash-flow neutral before using any lounge access or other perks.

Travel Perks8/10

Priority Pass Select unlimited visits, access to Capital One Lounges at Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Las Vegas, JFK, and Washington Dulles (5 airports), $100 Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit every 4 years, and primary rental car coverage. Since February 1, 2026, there are no free guests at Capital One Lounges or Landings — guests cost $45 each ($25 for ages 17 and under), and Priority Pass lounge guests cost $35 each with no free allotment.

Flexibility8/10

15+ transfer partners at 1:1 including Air Canada Aeroplan, Avianca LifeMiles, Turkish Miles&Smiles, and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer. Miles also redeem at 1 cent per point via the Capital One Travel portal.

PROS
$300 travel credit applies automatically to any travel purchase — no enrollment, no category restrictions, no portal required. Combined with 10,000 anniversary miles, the fee offsets itself with no effort.
2x miles on every purchase outside the portal — a $5,000/month spender earns 120,000 miles per year on non-bonus spending alone.
Capital One Lounges in Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Las Vegas, JFK, and Washington Dulles offer sit-down dining, showers, and fast Wi-Fi.
Air Canada Aeroplan transfer partner gives access to the full Star Alliance network, including United, Lufthansa, ANA, and Singapore Airlines.
Primary rental car coverage for collision and theft on rentals paid entirely with the card — saves $15–$30 per day on rental counter insurance.
No foreign transaction fees. Visa Infinite benefits include 24/7 concierge and trip cancellation up to $2,000 per person.
Authorized user cards are free. Household members can access lounges without an additional annual fee.
CONS
Capital One Travel portal is required to earn 5x on flights and 10x on hotels. Direct bookings earn only 2x, which may cost hotel elite status earnings.
Transfer partner roster leans on smaller international programs — Turkish, Avianca, TAP Air Portugal. There are no direct partnerships with Delta, United, American, Marriott, or Hilton.
Capital One Lounges are currently in 5 airports: Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Las Vegas, JFK, and Washington Dulles. Travelers based in Chicago O'Hare, LAX, or Boston Logan would rely on Priority Pass quality instead.
No hotel elite status benefit. Unlike the Amex Platinum, Venture X does not auto-grant Marriott Gold or Hilton Gold.
Since February 1, 2026, there are no free guests at Capital One Lounges or Landings — guests cost $45 per person ($25 for ages 17 and under), and Priority Pass lounge guests cost $35 per person with no free visits. The old 2-free-guests structure now applies only to the Venture X Business card.
Miles via transfer partners require navigating award availability. The 1 cent per point portal rate trails Chase's 1.25–1.5 cent portal value for straightforward cash-equivalent redemptions.
