Rewards Rate8.5/10

3x on dining and travel worldwide, 10x on hotels and car rentals via Chase Travel, 5x on flights via Chase Travel. The 3x travel category includes tolls, parking, transit, and Airbnb.

Welcome Bonus8.5/10

150,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after $6,000 in 3 months (up from 60,000 points/$4,000 spend). Worth $1,500+ via Chase Travel Points Boost pricing on eligible bookings, or well over $2,000+ transferred to World of Hyatt.

Annual Fee Value6/10

$795 annual fee (raised from $550 on June 23, 2025) reduced by the $300 travel credit, which applies automatically to any travel charge, to an effective $495 per year — a much steeper net cost than before the fee increase.

Travel Perks9.5/10

Priority Pass Select with unlimited visits and 2 free guests per visit, trip cancellation and interruption up to $10,000 per trip, trip delay coverage up to $500 after a 6-hour delay, primary rental car coverage, and $100 Global Entry credit every 4 years.

Flexibility8/10

14 transfer partners at 1:1 including World of Hyatt, United MileagePlus, Southwest Rapid Rewards, British Airways Avios, and Air France Flying Blue. The flat 1.5 cents-per-point Chase Travel portal rate was discontinued for new cardholders on June 23, 2025, replaced by a base 1 cent per point plus variable 1.5-2 cent "Points Boost" pricing on select flights and hotels — value now depends on which bookings carry a Boost.

PROS
150,000-point welcome bonus after $6,000 spend in 3 months is one of the largest sign-up offers Chase has issued on this card.
World of Hyatt transfers at 1:1 unlock hotel redemptions at 1.7–5 cents per point. A Park Hyatt room at $600 per night can be booked for 25,000 points.
Trip delay insurance pays up to $500 per ticket for meals, hotel, and clothing after a 6-hour delay — specifically covers connecting flights on separate tickets.
Priority Pass Select includes 2 free guests per visit. A family of 3 can access 1,300+ airport lounges globally without per-person fees.
3x on travel is broad — qualified purchases include parking, tolls, subway and bus fares, Airbnb, Lyft, and Uber.
Primary rental car coverage means you file with Chase, not your personal auto insurer — no risk of a rate increase on your personal policy.
Points pool with Chase Freedom Unlimited, Freedom Flex, and Ink Business cards. A household can consolidate all rewards and transfer them together.
CONS
$795 annual fee (raised from $550 on June 23, 2025) is $400 more than the Capital One Venture X. The $300 travel credit requires active card use rather than applying automatically as an offset.
The flat 1.5 cents-per-point Chase Travel portal rate was discontinued for new cardholders on June 23, 2025. The new structure pays a base 1 cent per point unless a booking carries a variable "Points Boost," making the portal's value less predictable than before.
Priority Pass guest policy changed in 2024 — after 2 free guests, additional guests cost $27 per person.
No grocery bonus category beyond 3x travel and dining. Cardholders who cook at home miss category multipliers that Amex Gold delivers.
Hyatt has limited award inventory in major US cities. Getting 5 cents per point redemptions requires flexibility on dates and locations.
DoorDash DashPass is included but requires separate enrollment. The benefit structure has changed multiple times.
